Stress is something that we all experience in our lives - whether it is stress that is work related, financially related or relationship related (or all three) we all experience it. We all react differently to stress as well. Some people can tolerate it more while others crumble under a little pressure. For many though, it is clear that some treatment or help is needed. Unfortunately lots of people who experience high levels of stress on a prolonged daily basis are unwilling or uncomfortable asking for help when it comes to stress. Many feel it is embarrassing or silly not to be able to cope and that they should be able to deal with it on their own.

However, if you are feeling overwhelmed with stress it is important to talk to someone about it. This is especially important if you are experiencing prolonged stress as it can have severe physical, mental and emotional effects.

Medication - Medication is often used to help people cope. If you are struggling to sleep as a result of stress, you may be able to get sleeping tablets to help. Some people are prescribed antidepressants, as stress can lead many to feel depressed and anxious.

The best course of action with stress is not to let it get on top of you. Discover your triggers and see if you can resolve them either by making debt more manageable, changing jobs, working on your relationships or finding a way to effectively cope with the stress.
