There are a huge range of massaging products available - different types of massage, various units such as chairs, pads, hand-held units, etc. - as well as an equally wide range of price points, and levels of manufacturing quality, support, and guarantees.
In terms of quality, one of the most important characteristics, Homedics definitely stands above the rest. Virtually all of their products, from back massage and massage chairs to Shiatsu massagers, are solidly built and tested.

As a company, they have been around for a long time, and have a justifiably strong reputation among both reviewers such as Consumer Reports, and actual consumers. A search on product reviews for any of their massagers will show nearly universal satisfaction with their products.
That quality, fortunately, doesn't come at a steep price. In fact, this is what makes them the "best" by most standards. For products at the low end of the price range, what you get in terms of quality is extraordinary!
The same holds true for features. The motors, pads, programmability, cushioning, control units, even packaging are comparable and in some cases superior to similar units costing sometimes two to 10 times as much money.
As a company, Homedics backs everything they sell with industry-leading warranties. It's understandable, given the build or manufacturing quality, since the company can assume they will see very few returns due to malfunction or breakdown.
I have owned a number of Homedics back massager units. These include the "pad-type" that I use in my car (which I should mention comes with both an AC adaptor for use on any regular indoor chair, as well as a cigarette lighter adaptor for use in the car), as well as a hand-held unit, and full-on massage chair. All of them have worked flawlessly since purchase.
As someone who could afford more expensive units, but doesn't like to "throw money away", I did much homework before purchasing. I made my initial choice based on features, warranty, and user / customer reviews. Subsequently, I've purchased additional massagers, but those decisions were based on my own experience and satisfaction with my earlier purchases.
For me, the various Homedics back massager units I own are a joy to use, perform exactly as advertised, have all the features I want, and give me the wonderful relaxation I had sought. Are they the "best"? In my book, they satisfy all the criteria I would pose to qualify them as so!
